Arnis abolins
PhD student - Arnis Abolins from Polymer laboratory in Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry is currently the most active user of the MR Latvia platform. Arnis and his colleagues are developing bio-based vitrimers (covalently adaptable thermosets) for materials science applications. For this research field, NMR spectroscopy plays a crucial role in the structural elucidation and quantitative analysis of intermediate products for vitrimers. In particular, NMR methods provide detailed insight into the chemical composition, crosslinking reactions, and molecular architecture, helping to optimize synthesis conditions and evaluate material performance, stability, and sustainability characteristics. We are very happy and excited that our NMR platform is contributing for local research fields and we are looking forward to find new applications.
